Additional Comments:

Thank you for considering our hospital for your surgical procedure. Please carefully review the following important information regarding pre-surgery requirements, travel arrangements, and post-surgery care. Preliminary Tests & Requirements (Back in Your Home Country): A valid diagnosis is required to proceed with this surgical procedure. Please consult with your local doctor to ensure that all necessary tests are completed prior to your surgery. In addition to the listed tests above, the following guidelines should be adhered to: • Blood tests must be no older than 30 days. CRP, blood glucose (fasting plasma glucose), and blood group identification and (irregular) antibody screening are also required. Determination of HbA1C level is required in patients with obesity (BMI>30) and diabetes mellitus. • U&E renal function is needed • Imaging diagnostics and cardiological assessments (e.g., ECG, echocardiography) must be no older than 2 months at the time of submission. • Knee MRI is needed. BMI Requirements: We cannot proceed with surgery for patients whose BMI exceeds 40. If your BMI is above 38, please consult with us in advance for further evaluation. Surgery Preparation and Travel Arrangements: Once your surgery date is confirmed, please consider the following when making your travel arrangements: • As per our surgical protocol, patients must arrive at our hospital at least two days prior to the surgery date for preliminary tests (which are included in your package). These tests will include dental checkups, laboratory tests, ECG, and others. • Based on the test results and physical examination, we may decide to postpone or refuse the surgery if it is not in your best interest. Your Customer Care Co-ordinator will provide you with the specific timing for these tests during the surgery booking process. • In case of existing irregular antibodies in the blood (as detected by the test), it is possible that the organization may differ from the standard procedure. In this case, you may need to arrive for a preliminary examination already in the week before the surgery to ensure that suitable blood is available if needed. • Patients with active ulcer or wound on lower limbs are not eligible for large joint arthroplasty. Post-Surgery Follow-up: We recommend a follow-up appointment in 12 weeks (included as part of your package). Detailed post-surgery advice will be provided on the day of discharge. Removal of stitches on day 14. Online consultation with X-ray in week 12. Discharge and Aftercare: Upon discharge, patients are able to move with crutches and are advised to stay at a nearby hotel. Training for self-physiotheraphy included. An optional outpatient physiotherapy package can be additionally purchased until the 14th day post-op. You can safely travel approximately 14 days after surgery. We can recommend partner hotels or apartments close to the hospital. During this time, patients will be instructed on self-physiotherapy, which is essential for recovery. Suture removal is included in your service during this period. If additional physiotherapy sessions are required, they can be arranged at an additional cost.

It is always recommended that you ensure you are properly protected for your trip. Traditional travel insurance policies are likely to exclude any travel overseas for medical or dental procedures; we strongly recommend that you do not travel overseas for treatment without appropriate medical travel insurance without insurance protection.
